Every good thing must come to an end. Well in this case, I’m glad it’s over. For the past seven months, I have been honing in on my skills by taking classes to include photoshop. Mission accomplished; now I am leaping in the field head first and feeling excited about what is ahead. During those months of books, projects and What?–Exams!!!, I was inspired to shoot personal projects. Close family and friends know I love 1920-1930’s Harlem. I was fascinated as a child with the Harlem Renaissance. The art culture of that time was phenomenal. The music–Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Billy Holiday, and Bessie Smith. The literature– W.E.B. Du Bois, Zora Neale Hurston, and my personal favorite, Langston Hughes. It was only befitting that I would resurrect the look and feel of that time in photos.
There’s a flame I tell you! So expect to see more personal projects and of course photos of current and prospective clients along the way. My deepest gratitude to all who have supported me. Enjoy some of the photos and tell me what you think!
Thank you to the best stylist ~ Dawn Harper-Carroll!!!
